CAPT Charles Taylor refers to his checklist as the pilot maneuvers an EC-130H Hercules aircraft behind a KC-135 Stratotanker aircraft for refueling. The EC-130Hs, which are flying under the project name of Compass Call, are modified to confuse and disrupt enemy command and control operations by using a highly sophisticated electronic jamming system. In the event of war, the EC-130Hs would employ this system to protect allied tactical fighter aircraft from enemy detection.
